One-Pan Creamy Garlic Butter Shrimp

  • Author: Lucia
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A quick, one-pan dinner featuring seared shrimp in a rich, velvety garlic butter and parmesan cream sauce. Ready in under 15 minutes with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 68 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth (low-sodium)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Thaw frozen shrimp in cold water if necessary, then drain and pat completely dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from pan and set aside.
  3. Reduce heat to medium. Add remaining 3 tablespoons of butter to the skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Stir constantly for 30-60 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and simmer for 1 minute, scraping up browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken slightly.
  6. Remove the pan from the heat. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Add lemon juice and taste for seasoning.
  7. Return the cooked shrimp and any accumulated juices to the pan. Toss gently for 1 minute to warm the shrimp through and coat in sauce.
  8. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

Pat shrimp dry thoroughly to ensure proper searing. Remove pan from heat before adding cheese to prevent separation. Do not overcook shrimp as they will continue to cook in the residual heat. For a lighter version, use half-and-half and serve over zucchini noodles.
