Description
This easy grandma’s classic peach cobbler uses canned peaches for a budget-friendly dessert. Creamy, sweet, and ready in 45 minutes for any family.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 large cans (15–16 oz each) canned yellow peaches
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Drain the canned peaches, reserving a small amount of syrup if desired. Slice peaches into quarters or eighths and arrange evenly in the baking dish.
- Sprinkle 1 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon over the peaches and toss gently to coat.
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Make a well in the center and pour in melted butter and milk. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix.
- Spoon the batter over the peaches in lumps. Do not spread it evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the crust is golden brown and syrup is bubbling vigorously. Tent with foil if browning too quickly.
- Cool for 10-15 minutes before serving to allow syrup to thicken. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
For best results, use a glass or ceramic dish for even browning. Do not skip the resting time after baking to allow the syrup to thicken. Can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
